Wir haben mit Niklas Schrader (Linke) eine Anfrage im Abgeordnetenhaus gestellt, um zu erfahren, wie viele Straftaten/Delikte tatsächlich nachts im Görlitzer Park stattfinden (bzw. wieviele Strafanzeigen von der Polizei erfasst werden). Denn immerhin wird der Görli ja neuerdings nachts verschlossen, um die Kriminalität zu bekämpfen (falls die Eingangstore funktionieren).
Das Ergebnis ist ernüchternd:
- Der Großteil der Delikte am kbO Görlitzer Park/Wrangelkiez findet (seit Jahren) außerhalb des Görlitzer Parks statt! Eine aktuelle Anfrage von Vasili Franco (Grüne) zeigt, dass im Jahr 2025 79% aller Delikte nicht im Görlitzer Park, sondern außerhalb, also im Rest des kbO Görlitzer Park/Wrangelkiez stattfinden (Link leider mit Paywall)
- Nachts finden deutlich weniger Straftaten als tagsüber statt – nämlich im Schnitt 21,58% aller aufgenommener Delikte
- Die Zahlen sind massiv rückläufig! Infolge der Cannabis-Entkriminalisierung seit dem 1. April 2024 kommt es in zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Jahren zu einem Rückgang von 38,33 (2024) bzw. 44,90 Prozent (2025) der aufgenommenen Delikte!
- Es finden besonders viele „Sonstige Straftaten“ statt! Das sind vermutlich vor allem Btm-Delikte – also sogenannte Kontroll-Delikte: viel Polizei=viele Kontrollen=viele Btm-Funde (Btm=Betäubungsmittel)
- Ausgerechnet im Görli werden die Einsatzzeiten der Polizei nicht erfasst! Dabei ist dort doch alles so schlimm und die Polizei muss dort so viele Einsätze leisten…
In Bezug auf die am 15. Februar 2025 eingerichtet Waffenverbotszone lässt sich festhalten, das im Görli seitdem keine Schusswaffen, 16 sonstige Gegenstände und gerade mal 10 Messer sichergestellt wurden. Ob ein Zusammenhang zur Grillwiese besteht, lässt sich nicht ableiten oder ausschließen.
Bereits im vergangenen Jahr haben wir darauf hingewiesen, dass von Juli 2023 bis Juli 2024 lediglich ca. drei („3“) Prozent alles Straftaten im Görli mit Waffen begangen wurden, aber Fakten haben in der völlig freidrehenden Law-&Order-Debatte um den Görli bisher eine eher untergeordnete Rolle gespielt…
Unserer Meinung nach zeigen die hier dargelegten Zahlen, dass in der aktuellen Debatte relativ wenig Bezüge zur tatsächlichen Situation im Görli bestehen. Der Görli wird medial viel gefährlicher dargestellt als er ist, was vor allem einer Stimmungsmache zur Durchsetzung von Law&Order-Strategien dient. Geschenkt, dass diese Debatten an den Bedürfnissen von Nutzer*innen und Anwohner*innen komplett vorbeigeht.
Wir wollen nachhaltige und soziale Lösungen für soziale Konflikte!
Der Görli bleibt auf!

Crime in Görli? We investigated
Along with Niklas Schrader (Die Linke), we sent an inquiry to parliament, in order to discover how many criminal offences actually take place in Görlitzer Park at night (or alternatively, how many criminal offences are recorded by the police). After all, Görli has recently begun to be closed at night in order to fight crime (provided the entrance gates are working…)
The result is sobering:
- The majority of offences in the kbO of Görlitzer Park and Wrangelkiez have been taking place (for years!) outside of Görlitzer Park. A current inquiry from Vasili Franco (Grüne) shows, that 79% of recorded crimes took place not in Görlitzer Park, but in the rest of the kbO. (Source, unfortunately paywalled)
- There are significantly fewer crimes at night than in the daytime – namely, 21.58% of all recorded offences
- Figures are falling dramatically! As a result of the decriminalisation of cannabis on the 1st April 2024, there has been a reduction of 38.33% (2024) and 44.9% (2025) in the number of recorded offences over the two following years.
- There are a lot of “other offences” These are presumably drug-related offences; in other words, so called “checkpoint offences”, which result from lots of police enacting lots of searches and finding lots of drugs. (The term in German is Btm-Delikte, with Btm referring to Betäubungsmittel, the word for narcotics.)
- Of all the places, it’s in Görli that no one has recorded the police response times! And yet the situation there is obviously so terrible, and the police have to carry out so many arrests…
Regarding the weapon-free-zone that was established on the 15th February 2025, it is worth noting that since then, there have been no forearms, 15 miscellaneous items, and just 10 knives that have been seized in Görli. Any possible connection to the barbecue area can neither be determined nor ruled out.
We have already pointed out last year that, between July 2023 and July 2024, only around 3% of all crimes in Görli involved the use of weapons, but facts have played a somewhat minor role in the wildly out-of-control law-and-order debate surrounding Görli…
In our opinion, these figures show that the current discourse has relatively little to do with the actual situation in Görli. Görli is portrayed in the media as being far more dangerous than it actually is, which mostly serves to drum up public support for the draconian policies being applied in the park. It goes without saying that these debates completely ignore the needs of users and local residents.
We want sustainable, social solutions to social problems!
